I am apparently being followed by a demon. As of now, the demon has to to reveal itself fully too me, but once it does I will begin a campaign against women...raping and killing on whims. At least I've finally got something to look forward to in life.

Key West and stuff

Key West is a really awesome place. Having said that, you can't really get the most of it without having a girl along with you. Having a couple of friends with you to hit bars and get drunk with would probably be good times too, but I'm not really into that kind of scene. It was still a fantastic place to chill for a while. Did some fishing and general site seeing, and it was nice to spend some time with my dad. I definitely plan to go there again one day.

Still a lot of things to do before the 20th. Kind of dragging ass, but the fact is I've only got 10 days to go :( So many things I want to do, but not enough time to do any of it. Oh well. Think I'm going to order a dell computer before I head up to Mississippi so that I know I can travel with it to Afghanistan. Second guessing myself on getting the uber computer though, will depend on if it'll still be covered by the warranty over there. If I can, I'd like to load it up with stuff from my desktop before head over too, but I guess that kind of depends on whether we'll be able to go home after we are done with all that training.

I still need to call the car insurance people and see what I should do about the truck, as well as the bank to get a new debt card and such. Need to pack, but figure I can knock that out in a day.

Drill sucked. BUT, we got off for Sunday to spend time with our families because of the coming deployment. Fucking bastards. Shouldn't have gone in at all. Gotta go in for deployment on the 20th, not much time left now. Visiting my Father in Key West on Monday, should be some good times.

With so little time, I've given up on the hope that maybe I'd meet a new girl or anything before I get deployed. I don't usually WANT to meet new girls, but given the length and obscurity of my deployment location, even I realize that I'll REALLY miss even the idea of girls. Probably just the beer and fatigue talking.

Going to go stay with my sister for a few days. Her boyfriend is taking off and she doesn't want to stay alone. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I don't mind too much. When I went away for basic and AIT for 6 months, it was really shocking how much stuff I missed in the real world when I came back. For instance, while I was there the first season of american idol came out and I had no idea wtf it was. John actually had to explain it to me. Anyway, that was after only 6 months. Deployment is going to be over a year! Going to miss so much.

So I'm on the dreaded list. Does that mean I'm actually going to Afghanistan? Not really, but the chances are good. Had to get out of school because of it. Have a few other thigns to take care of before I'm ready to go, but I'm pretty much ready now. So I'm just going to relax and take advantage of civilian life as only I know how. By doing absolutly nothing.

Saw what appears to be the end of Battlestar Galctica. Its a really great show, really hope it does end there. Easily the best sci-fi show since Firefly, and maybe even since babylon 5. Would like to watch some new anime, anyone got any good ones they know about? Movies included.

So John calls me up and tells me that we are going to the 'Stan. That really didn't bother me too much, soon as Carpenter said if he had the choice he'd take us, I knew that rat-bastard would find a way to make it happen. I'm really ok with it. I've really looked at getting deployed the same way I have since they told us we'd be going to Iraq 2 years ago. I'd see it as a growing experience, and something I'd take a lot out of. All-in-all, a good thing. Sure it would suck to lose over a year doing stupid shit, but think how much you'd come back with? Wouldn't hurt also that I'd be going with two of my best friends.

So I e-mail Carpenter about it to try and get the full scoop, and he tells me that John is confirmed, I am not. Which leads me to the only real fear I had about the whole thing, being left behind alone, or shipping out alone. I'm assuming I'll learn more after this weekend, but I hope that doesn't happen.

Every once in a while a movie comes out with a cast so good, no matter how crazy it looks I just know I'll have to see it. Sin City looks to be one of those movies. Troy was another one. It looks REALLY crazy....in a not good sort of way, but still. Kinda in a Sky Captain sort of way. But still, damn that's a great cast.
